Atmos Rewards · oneworld Emerald

Atmos Platinum Status

Atmos Platinum is the third Atmos Rewards tier, requiring 80,000 status points in a calendar year. It is the direct replacement for Mileage Plan MVP Gold 75K — but the bar moved up by 5,000 points. Platinum maps to oneworld Emerald, the highest-recognized status across oneworld carriers.

Who Atmos Platinum is for

High-frequency Alaska/Hawaiian flyers, typically 15+ round trips a year, or anyone combining serious flying with heavy Summit card spend. Platinum is the first tier where you get oneworld Emerald-level recognition: first-class lounges and the most generous baggage and boarding priority across the alliance.

Atmos Platinum benefits

  • Everything in Atmos Gold, plus:
  • Three free checked bags
  • oneworld Emerald benefits — First-class lounge access on international oneworld flights, the highest priority boarding on partners.
  • Higher upgrade priority than Atmos Gold
  • Premium-cabin upgrade benefits coming in later 2026 (space-available)

Fastest path to Atmos Platinum

Roughly 80,000 status points. With a 2026 transition bonus of 5,000 points for previous Platinum members and the 10,000-point Summit anniversary credit, the math leans heavily on credit card spend or moderate-to-heavy flying.

  • Flying only: About 80,000 flown miles under distance-based earning — for example, 8 transcon round trips, or four mainland-to-Hawaii round trips paired with eight West Coast trips. Or heavily long-haul: a couple of round trips to Asia or Europe gets you most of the way there.
  • Card boost: Summit anniversary delivers 10,000 status points each year. If you previously held MVP Gold 75K (Atmos Platinum equivalent), you also got a one-time 5,000-point head start on 2026 status earning.
  • Card spend route: On the Summit card at 1 status point per $2, you would need roughly $130,000 of spend to reach Platinum from spend alone after the anniversary bonus — most members combine the card with regular flying.

2026 transition bonus

Members who held the legacy Mileage Plan MVP Gold 75K tier entering 2026 received a one-time 5,000 status point head start on 2026 earning toward 2027 status. This is a 2026-only bonus designed to soften the transition to higher status thresholds under Atmos Rewards.

Milestone rewards on the way to Platinum

Atmos Rewards Milestone Rewards begin at 10,000 status points. Even before reaching Platinum, you unlock perks at intermediate thresholds — typically free pre-order food, bonus points, or a trial of the next tier for a single trip. See our milestone rewards guide for the full schedule.
