Status Match

When an airline grants you elite status equivalent to your existing status with a competing airline, usually as a customer-acquisition tool.

A status match is when one airline grants you elite status equivalent (or close to equivalent) to your existing elite status with a competing airline. The match is typically time-limited (3–6 months) and may convert to permanent status if you complete a "status challenge" — flying a defined number of qualifying flights or status points within the match window.

Alaska Airlines / Atmos Rewards has historically offered status matches selectively, often when expanding into new markets or competing aggressively in West Coast hubs. There is no permanent public match form on atmosrewards.com — requests typically go through the Atmos Rewards loyalty desk via email.

See our Atmos Rewards status match guide for the full request process and realistic match levels by source program.
