Atmos Rewards Status vs Delta SkyMiles Medallion
Atmos Rewards and Delta SkyMiles Medallion are the two dominant elite programs on the U.S. West Coast — Atmos via Alaska/Hawaiian, Medallion via Delta. They take very different approaches to status earning. Here is how they compare in 2026.

Earning philosophy
Delta's SkyMiles Medallion shifted to revenue-only earning years ago — your dollar spend, full stop. Atmos kept the older, more flexible philosophy: distance-based earning by default, with revenue and segment options launching as choices later in 2026. For long-haul international flyers and discount-fare bookers, Atmos's distance option produces materially more status points per dollar spent.
Alliance reach
oneworld (Atmos): American, BA, Cathay, Iberia, JAL, Qantas, Qatar, and now Hawaiian. SkyTeam (Delta): Air France, KLM, Korean, Virgin Atlantic, China Eastern. Atmos has the stronger trans-Pacific story; SkyTeam stronger trans-Atlantic.
Where Delta still wins
Delta's Sky Club lounge network is denser in domestic U.S. airports than Atmos's lounge access via oneworld. Delta's premium-cabin product is generally regarded as more polished than Hawaiian's and on par with Alaska's on transcons.
Verdict
For Pacific Northwest and Hawaii flyers who want flexibility in how they earn status, Atmos wins. For East Coast and SkyTeam-international travelers, Delta SkyMiles Medallion remains the more practical program.
